Suggestions Please

Hello all!


Well folks we need to chat about our upcoming Blaine Rowan Family Reunion.

The original plan was to hold the first reunion July 28-30, 2011 at Albion Campus Grove in Idaho. Camille collected money for the deposit but unfortunately we were unable to get enough money to hold the date and we’ve lost the reservation at Albion Campus Grove. So it’s time to regroup and discuss what we’d like to do.

Camille had booked a reunion for her Freeman side of the family at Luther Heights near Ketchum, Idaho, on July 9, 10, 11, 2010. The Freemans have decided to cancel their reunion so it would give us the opportunity to take their spot and have one there at that time. Please take a second to look at their website http://www.lutherheights.org/ and tell us if it’s something that your family would be interested in.

We have other options as well and we’d like to hear from everyone as to what they’d like to do and when. Would people be interested and available in a reunion this summer? Should it be something simpler and/or shorter to accommodate the narrow timeline?

Where should we hold it?

Here are a few other places we found on the internet. Look these places over but also please offer any suggestions you may have for other locations.

(These locations offer accommodations for large groups with cabins but also offer camping options. We think they would be fine with RV’s but not all of them may have hookups. Camille and Cindy feel strongly that they’d like to NOT go somewhere like Lagoon or Cherry Hill because they would really like to have the family spend a lot of time together. Some of these locations have a lot of activities for kids, others we may have to plan more to keep the kids busy. Luther Heights is the only location (as far as we know) that provides all the meals.)

At one point Shondale mentioned her husband’s family has a large cabin we might be able to use, is that possibly still an option? Shondale could you share the details with us if so?

We could meet up in Boise as that is somewhat central and several families live there. We could play in the parks along the river, go tubing down the river, and/or have a pool party at the Fleming’s. Some of us could probably stay the night with those who live in Boise but some would probably end up in hotels.

Please take a minute to look things over and offer us your point of view and preferences – not only for your own family but for your whole branch of the family. Please don’t just brush this off and then complain later that you didn’t like what we ended up doing. Speak your mind! Give us your suggestions! Tell us what you want to do!
